Newcastle, gets a Vans Store.

Wait, What? About f*ck!ng time! So Newcastle Upon Tyne, my hometown, the place of Geordie Shore, many a basic b*!ch and me (some people would probably say I am a basic, bit extra… but at least my Vans collection isn’t just black and white Old Skools, cause I’m so edgy…).

So I know this is late, but hey, at least I have gotten around to this. It has been a busy AF few weeks with work, freelance, being ill and attempting to get out and be social (I was white girl wasted last week)

Pizza, Beer, Vans. The way to my heart is this trilogy of godlike creations. Shout out to the DJ’s spinning some nostalgia from my teen years with some of still favourite bands, you played some tunes.

definite highlight had to be the fact they had beer pong, I feel like I own a table at a party but that is probably the dutch courage and the fact I am a loud, in the centre of the room kinda A-hole. This being said land a ball, get a discount. Shocking performance by me (drunk Lee is pro at beer pong), luckily the better half has a better aim sober.

Vans tailored the party perfectly for Newcastle, it was a party welcome to the biggest, best and most vital brand in skate to ‘the toon’.

Another highlight (clearly I am going to have many in this store) was the random drunk, who didn’t want pizza, or any apparel. Just the beer, poor woman serving politely telling him no to the request of “can I just have a can to take?” He was not happy and left disappointed in the fact he had to purchase his booze.

Well discount card in hand, I notice the Chima Pro 2, the grey colour-way that has been tempting me for a while…

One guess. Yep. I walked out with a pair in hand.

I have said this before, the British love something free, we will wait in a line to get anything free especially a sample of food… Beer and Pizza. Yes. F!ck me we are ridiculous, but screw that, make a cup of tea and we will politely ignore the fact we are a weird country of people. I lived up to my stereotype. Thank you vans for the free Newcastle tote filled with some Vans goodies!

Recap the week.

Sheeeeee. It’s been a hell of a week. Burning through cash and taking some L’s.

Happy Thanksgiving to the States.

So I have picked some of what I liked dropping this week, kept it cliche with your big names. Going to be looking at what is hot and not in Supreme, Palace, Vans and the new Yeezys.

Supreme

£1,098 for a half a halloween costume. To be fair I would rock the red, but price is mad, we all know this will sell out in time. Something for your flush Hypebeast.

Unexpected item I took a win on. Sacred Hearts, camp looking fresh in all colour ways. White with Red Bogo all the way for me. This design we’ve seen throughout the season, potential was there but for me wasn’t big on anything but the jacket, where I took a L. Still undecided on the Doc Collab, what was your opinions on this? Seeing this hat swayed me to being a fan of the design and print. This and the Olive Floral from two weeks ago are two fantastic designs, can’t decide which one is my season favourite.

Oh, these are definitely not for the UK market, 100% American Hypebeast. Big stomping American Flag, Timberlands.

Palace

Palace have the best no fucks attitude out in the market. They also have the garms to back up their mouths. You need to have a look at the shots fired in the description of the above hat. I will let you search and find and reap the rewards.

Best piece of the drop has to be the P3 Parka in green. Some true real fire. Wish I put in a order in on this. Lack of funds, bollocks.

Vans X End

This is where the money went this week. I am too much of a Vans fiend, and for them to collaborate with End clothing a local brand I felt this is a part of a history I couldn’t pass on.

The nordic wool pack, nothing screams cosy winter like some wooly garms. Suppose to be buying Christmas presents but I did cop the Marshmallow colour way, cause how could I not!

Yeezy

Yeezy, everyone loves these, word is Frozen Yellow are the rarest. Still on the fence on these.

I want to cop but also don’t. I’ve sat on the fence that long about these the splinters in my arse are now part of me.

Vans X Brain Dead

When you gifted some real FIRE.

Vans X Brain Dead. These two Iconic brands collaborated on a capsule collection built up of 2 Shirts, 2 T-shirts, a hat, a bag and 3 pairs of trainers.

The Pink pair are already a staple in both mine and my girlfriends wardrobe, although we don’t allow each other to rock at the same time. I say WE but anyone will know that they listen to this boss. #AfterAnEasyLife

Vans X Brain Dead Pink Era LX

Vans x Brain Dead Old Skool LX

“Brain Dead is a creative collective of artists and designers from around the world. With its disruptive, graphic-led approach, the brand takes its cues from post punk, underground comics, skateboarding, and the spirit of subculture as a whole. Brain Dead is not one person, nor is it one idea. It sits in the space between people.”

Brain Dead to me stand for the different the idea that sitting outside of societies norms is fine, after all who wants to sit in the norm?

From the offset, the box makes these a stand out pair in my collection, who doesn’t love an exciting box to stand out in the footwear collection. The graphics scream Brain Dead the punk, skate aesthetic of the graphics embody destruction and individuality.

Combine these asthetics on a pair of Old Skool’s, lose the stripe across the side and give a pastel tone and Vans X Brain Dead have created possibly my favourite capsule of footwear. With two of three hitting the shelves in my collection, definitely think the yellow slip ons might have to be tracked down.

Being a Geordie, having a shop like END in Newcastle Upon Tyne is nothing short of amazing. Usually these stores are London based, Footpatrol kicking about the East End. SO being able to cop fire in person like this is something that I don’t take for granted. Only wish when I lived in London I had the funds to allow me to cop all the ‘Preme and Palace in person.

This season pastel colours are in, and they are in BIG, vans are getting in on this with these exclusive colour ways. I think my collection may need 3 of 3…
